《美國經濟》7月工業生產持平 低於預期

美國聯準會（FED）8月15日公佈，7月份工業生產指數較前月修正值持平為98.9（2007年基期=100），與去年同期相比年增1.4%。根據路透社的調查，經濟學家原先預期7月工業生產可望月增0.3%。

若細分三大產業生產指數分析，製造業月減0.1%（年增1.3%），經濟學家原先預期將月增0.3%；礦業月增2.1%（年增5.7%），為連續第四個月上揚；公用事業月減2.1%（年減3.7%），為連續第四個月下滑。

7月份工業產能利用率由前月的77.7%下滑至77.6%，經濟學家原先預期將上揚至77.9%，此較長期平均值（1972年至2012年）80.2%低2.6個百分點。佔美國GDP比例12%的製造業產能利用率自前月的75.9%下滑至75.8%；礦業自88.0%上升至89.5%；公用事業自77.8%下滑至76.2%。

產能利用率是FED利率決策的參考指標之一，過低顯示企業設備被閒置、景氣偏弱，寬鬆貨幣政策將不會改變。反之，產能利用率若過高則有景氣過熱、通膨上升之虞，因此FED有可能升息調節景氣。
