【陳培煌、黃揚明／台北報導】綠委蕭美琴今爆料，我駐美代表處新聞組長王億本月14日在《華盛頓郵報》官網某篇文章下方留言指稱立法院長王金平是「前議長 （former legislative speaker）」，內文並寫道「很慶幸（I’m very glad）國民黨嚴懲黨員」。蕭痛批，身為外交官竟公然對台灣內部政黨事務選邊發言「非常不妥」，且稱王金平是「前議長」，在司法程序還沒結束前就自行判定，已違反外交人員作業準則，呼籲外交部應給予懲處。

王億接受《蘋果》記者訪問時證實，「這是我沒錯」，但他無法多說什麼，駐處之後會有一份完整的新聞稿說明。外交部發言系統則一律封口，據悉，外交部長林永樂與發言人高安晚間密集開會，針對此事沙盤推演，希望把衝擊力道 降到最低。

華郵12日網路版刊登「醜聞、執政黨分裂及監聽引起之憤怒使台灣總統和執政黨受到衝擊（Taiwan’s president, ruling party hit by scandal, rifts, anger over wiretapping）」報導，王億在文章底下留言陳述自身看法。綠委蕭美琴表示，這是昨天她在立法院外交委員會質詢時要求外交部提供的資料，而外交部提供資料中，證實《華郵》官網文章中署名「fywang」就是王億的回覆帳號。
