國道生物防護通道 曾在通霄看到石虎

全台國道網路許多路段經過山區，經高公局調查，從民國九十八年到今年十月底，共累積了近四萬筆動物在國道上死亡的紀錄。為了讓各種動物、昆蟲有一條安全的路可走，高公局已在國一台中、國三苗栗通霄、台南白河和雲林林內等路段，架設防護網或通道，經過監測已有多種動物經常使用，未來將持續進行相關的復育研究工作。（閻大富報導）

民國九十六年，由於國寶級生物紫斑蝶越冬遷徒時，通過國道三號林內路段的景觀，被國家地理頻道報導，讓高公局開始重視不同生物在國道上的安全問題。

高公局總工程司許「金正」漳指出，除了成立專案小組，對國道沿線生態敏感區進行資源調查、道路致死研究、外來入侵物種移除與資料庫建置等工作，也在包括國一台中和交科交流道、國三苗栗通霄、台南白河和雲林林內等路段，設置防護網和通道，讓紫斑蝶、鳥類和中型哺乳動物能安全通過，甚至曾看過台灣特有種貓科類動物「石虎」。

高公局表示，未來將持續監測國道工程對生態的影響，並評估與學術單位合作，進行環境復育的相關研究。（圖：國三通霄防護路段拍到石虎畫面 高公局提供）
