臉書繼 4 月初推出 Android 系統專屬的介面 Facebook Home 並開放在 Google Play 商店下載之後，科技媒體《The Verge》報導，臉書接下來還要讓 Android 系統用戶能透過專屬即時通進行 VoIP 免費語音通話。

臉書（FB-US）繼 4 月初推出 Android 系統專屬的介面 Facebook Home 並開放在 Google Play 商店下載之後，科技媒體《The Verge》報導，臉書接下來還要讓 Android 系統用戶能透過專屬即時通進行 VoIP 免費語音通話。

要使用這項免費語音通話毋須特別下載或更新軟體，只要用戶有臉書即時通（Facebook Messenger）的應用程式即可。用戶先找到即時通裏對話視窗內的 i 按鈕，點擊後選「Free Call」就可通話。

透過臉書即時通進行語音通話的服務今年初已先於 iOS 上推出。臉書指出，目前全球只有 24 個國家能透過Android 系統進行 VoIP 語音通話服務，但據內部工程師向《The Verge》透露，不久後這項服務就能遍及全球。
